Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a number of accounting functions related to assisting with the general ledger month-end close process. This position also serves as the accounting sponsor in support of various cost centers; assisting cost center managers with explanation of results, forecasts, and budgets.

Major Responsibilities
· Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports
· Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
· Develops accounting schedules
· Prepares comparative internal financial statements and other financial reports
· Assists with required support for external audits
· Provides assistance with Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives as required and other duties as assigned
· Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records
· Coordinates accounting matters with other departments and locations

Additional Senior Accountant Competencies
· Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word
· Experience with SEC reporting, tax reporting, accounts payable, fixed assets, and an Oracle general ledger system is helpful
· Ability to maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail
· Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
· Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information
· Ability to ensure that your own and others’ work and information are complete and accurate
· Ability to find a solution or deal proactively with work-related problems

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Relevant Work Experience
· 5-10 years experience in general accounting with emphasis in general ledger and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment or comparable public accounting experience
Certificates/Licensure
· CPA preferred
Travel Requirements
· Primarily Limited to Local Travel
