About the Job

NXP is a leading semiconductor company founded by Philips more than 50 years ago. Headquartered in Europe, the company has about 33,500 employees working in more than 20 countries. NXP creates semiconductors, system solutions and software that deliver better sensory experiences in TVs, set-top boxes, identification applications, mobile phones, cars and a wide range of other electronic devices.

Look at a typical printed circuit board, and NXP can usually supply 70% of the semiconductors on it! Our Multimarket Semiconductors Business Unit is one of the top three suppliers in the global channel, selling around 50 billion products for consumer and industrial applications every year. Our broad range of innovative products is backed up by advanced logistics solutions and knowledgeable field support, enabling us to deliver best-fit solutions for our customers – a list that includes leading companies like Philips, Nokia, Siemens, Bosch, Flextronics and Jabil. We sell via a global network of sales offices, distributors (including Arrow, Avnet, Future and WPG) and EMS partners. Our extensive production resources ensure cost effectiveness and supply continuity, and form the backbone of an organization that matches the globalization trends of both our customers and their markets.

Job Description

Senior Analog Designer of integrated circuits for NXP Semiconductors, Product Line Interface Products.

The job will entail performing the complete design from product definition to tapeout of the finished design, architecting the chip, designing the analog portions, working with digital designers on the digital design portions, creating a chip floor plan and working with a layout designer to create the final layout. The designer will also work with marketing to define new product roadmaps and will be required to work with customers on application questions and issues. T

The products being designed will be a part of our I2C product line where we are expanding our portfolio to include more complex analog functions.

The job requires an excellent understanding of integrated circuit electronics including device level physics, particularly analog system and transistor level circuit design, analog layout and computer aided design tools.
- Experience designing Analog to Digital and Digital to analog converters will be helpful, as will experience designing sigma-delta, successive approximation, and dual slope converters.
- The individual should have experience designing low voltage/low power circuits with high voltage (20 V+), high current outputs.
- Also helpful is experience with Matlab and creating verilogA models for the analog blocks.
- Must have a working knowledge of CAD design environments/usages and experience with the following EDA tools: Cadence DFII, AMS simulators, Virtuoso, Dracula, and Assura, Mentor Calibre will be helpful.
- The engineer will need to understand the architecture of the part including the digital control blocks and I2C functionality.
- Verification of design will be done using analog circuit simulation tools (Spectre) and mixedsignal simulation environments like SpectreAMS and NCsim.
- An understanding of CAD tools and environments, i.e., design workstations, UNIX/Linux, and Cadence design systems is necessary.
- Both dedicated analog and mixed signal design, simulation, layout and verification skills are required.

Requirements

- MS or PhD in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years experience in analog design or related analog-mixed signal design experience including designing
- Analog to Digital converters and Digital to Analog converters.
- Experience designing low voltage/low power circuits with high voltage, high current outputs.
- Both dedicated analog and mixed signal design, simulation, layout and verification skills are required.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with marketing and supporting customers with application questions.
