Summary



The Senior Analyst is responsible for the financial management of all Human Resources functions. Specifically, the Senior Analyst will develop and manage the annual budget, develop and track the quarterly forecast against budget, and perform variance analyses as part of the monthly close. Duties also include projecting monthly spend and creating entries in the General Ledger accordingly. The Senior Analyst is required to highlight key P&L exposures within the HR function.


Qualifications


Minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in a Finance or Accounting position
List years of experience and/or any industry-specific requirements or “plusses”
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
List years of education and level of degree completion required or desired
Basic knowledge and proficiency of MS Office, Word, Excel (including Pivot Tables). Familiarity using financial reporting systems (Lawson, Business Objects, Crystal).
Understand basic accounting concepts (debits/credits, revenue recognition, accruals)
Proven leadership, financial modeling and relationship building skills
The ability to anticipate potential risks and the aptitude to seek out solutions or alternatives in an effort to mitigate those risks
Strong communication and analytical skills coupled with superior multi-tasking and business process improvement capabilities
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with diverse groups agency-wide
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
Accountability and flexibility a must
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Positive team player attitude

Detailed Description


List the general characteristics that contribute to success in this position, e.g., “self-starter” or “strong interpersonal skills”
Partner with all HR functions, including Staffing, HRIS and Compensation and Benefits groups, to ensure forecasts and budgets are reasonable, accurate and submitted in a timely manner
Evaluate and monitor HR spending plans versus targets and identifying risks/opportunities
Evaluate and monitor regional income statement plans versus targets and identifying risks/opportunities
Assist with quarter end activities including preparation of the Board of Director’s package, creation of reports and documentation for external auditors and assistance with press releases
Team with Finance Manager to analyze industry trends and competitor performance to provide strategic overview of potential risks and opportunities for Digitas, Inc.
Coordinate the business requirements related to the integration of a new budget tool
Ensure complete, accurate (footing) and properly formatted documents prior to manager review
Ability to manipulate data and transform for analytical use
Suggest process improvements to benefit Capability
Initiative, responsibility and follow through for “owned” work a must
