Sr. Accountant - Warranties
Sr. Accountant – Warranties Goodman Global, Inc. About Goodman: The Opportunity: Goodman is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Sr. Accountant – Warranties position. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the timely and accurate assessment of warranty reserves. The candidate will be required to develop a complete understanding of the warranty process including product eligibility through the establishment and ongoing analysis of warranty reserve requirements for future claims. The candidate must possess (1) strong analytical skills in order to understand trends; (2) strong interpersonal skills with ability to comfortably interact and communicate with all levels of management and (3) above average computer skills including MS Excel, Access and the ability to extract and work with large main frame data bases. Responsibilities: · Warranty analysis and reporting · Other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications/Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting · Public accounting experience preferred, but not required · If candidate has public accounting background, 3-5 yrs experience required · If the candidate does not have public accounting experience, 5-7 yrs experience · Analytical ability to review processes, documents, and reports to determine issues and remedy those issues · Strong Microsoft Excel skill is a must · Basic understanding of MS Access/SQL is strongly desired · Self motivated, team player having an intense desire and ability to learn and improve · Communication both verbally and written as this role will work closely with the extended warranty and warranty departments, vendors, legal and key executives · Previous experience with Mapics and/or Mincron systems is a plus. · Previous experience in manufacturing is also a plus.
