We are currently recruiting for the following position to be located at our corporate headquarters in Belcamp, Maryland.


 


Sr. Benefits Specialist


Summary:


SafeNet’s fast-paced HR department is seeking an experienced Sr. Benefits Specialist to join its team.  This position will have primary responsibility for daily administration of the employee benefit programs (ie. welfare plans) as well as the 401k Retirement Program; routine compliance administration with federal/state and tax requirements as well as providing benefits customer service to its US employee base. 


 


Qualification Requirements:


 


Education:   


Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred


 


Experience:  


5+ years human resources and benefits experience or equivalent in education


 


Skills:


Good technical knowledge of benefits functional areas


 


Good knowledge of IRS and other governmental reporting requirements


 


Good knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to benefits programs


 


Strong in mathematical applications


 


Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, detailed oriented, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills required


 


Strong skill set in Microsoft office word, spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint, etc required


 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following


 


Plans, develops and administers the benefits program administration activities:


 



  • Makes plan design recommendations regarding program enhancement and controlling costs
  • Routinely reviews processes to ensure best practices are utilized and the benefits area is efficiently functioning
  • Coordinates and administers group life, health, accident, disability and dental insurance programs, including applicable processing for withholding for salary reduction plans; responsible for all monthly billing and ensures all statements balance.  Researches all discrepancies for resolution.
  • Coordinates and administers activities involving company's paid time-off programs related to ensuring appropriate notifications are communicated to employees, termination payouts, etc.
  • Coordinates and administers activities of company's 401k Plan —audits, compliance notifications,
  • Prepares, distributes, and maintains benefits description booklets, annual statements, and certificates.  Ensures all communication materials are up to date
  • Maintains/updates benefits website
  • Acts as liaison between the company and various insurance carriers and plan administrators
  • Remains current on all government regulations involving payroll and benefits, including Fair Labor Standards Act; FMLA; Workers Compensation: HIPPA; Americans with Disabilities Act, etc.
  • Compiles routine and special reports on benefits matters
  • Other duties as assigned
