Sr Business Analyst, Dynamics Axapta
This position is with a global leader in the development and manufacture of UHP waterjet systems. They are currently operating in 14 countries with global headquarters located in Washington State.
They are looking for a senior business systems analyst with an outstanding ability to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements providing detailed specifications for a diverse business audience. These specifications will be used to configure packaged applications (ERP) and build custom software to meet business objectives. Technical competencies are specifically centered on the Microsoft technology stack and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.
In this position, you will work with a team at the corporate headquarters near Seattle, WA, reporting to the Group Manager, Enterprise Applications.
Responsibilities:
With excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, coupled with a passion for delivering high quality enterprise software systems, the successful candidate will:
- Have an in-depth understanding and have the proven ability to use modern SDLC methodologies, techniques, best practices and tools.
- Build full life-cycle specifications that allow for a diverse business audience to fully appreciate and understand the vision and requirements of the software being configured or built.
- Have an in-depth understanding of functional business areas including finance, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, and human resources.
- Make recommendations on system changes and enhancements and 3rd party software additions in consultation with business users and IT colleagues.
- Assist in the design, code/configure, integrate, test and debug of application software.
- Develop and continually improve software systems development lifecycle methodologies and processes utilizing best practice industry standards and tools.
- Assist tier 3 support activities and training as necessary to ensure successful adoption of software systems.
Requirements:
You are a talented business analyst with a passion for technology and a belief that innovative, high-quality, business-aligned software systems are instrumental in the success of any enterprise. You have:
- Very strong business knowledge (a Publicly Held Global Mfg company) with significant experience in areas such as: Finance, Mfg/Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, etc.
- Exceptional BA skills with significant exposure to building specifications using modern techniques (SWOT, MOST, CATWOE, 5 Why’s, etc), modeling notations (Use Case, etc), diagrams (sequence, state, activity, swim lanes, etc), deliverable definitions (WBS, etc) as well as others.
- Very strong knowledge and experience instituting SDLC methodologies (CMMI, Scrum, Agile, RAD, Waterfall, etc) and supporting tools (TFS).
- Highly experienced with ERP systems (modules include: Financials, Sales Order Fulfillment, Mfg/MRP, HRIS and CRM/SFA).
- Very strong experience with ERP applications especially in a manufacturing environment (Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0/2009 is required).
- Great interpersonal skills, so as to successfully elicit comprehensive and detailed information from subject-matter experts, in both technical and business arenas.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Enthusiastic attitude and ability to build strong relationships within the company and with external partners.
- Experience in a global company, having diverse stakeholders with different languages and cultures.
- In addition to excellent English, Mandarin or German language skills are very desirable.
Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a technical setting, to back up your obvious talent.
- Dynamics AX, APICS, and MCP certifications are a plus.
Salary range: $75 - $95K
