Job Description:
seeking an individual with strong project management, analytical and documentation skills to coordinate the development of various web-based and mainframe applications. This individual will work with our IT vendor, internal staff, and external resources to gather and document the business and system requirements and oversee the design, testing, and implementation efforts. Job Experience:
. Work closely with management to understand business goals and requirements; gain in-depth knowledge of functions, processes, operations and IT environment
. Translate user needs into detailed business requirements
. Assist with the evaluation and resolution of system security issues
. Assist in determining the need for, and selection of, any outside resources/consultants
. Oversee resources to ensure deadlines are met
. Develop and maintain all project documentation, including project plans and timelines
. Oversee the development and implementation of system testing plans, scenarios and script
. Manage the resolution of defects
. Ensure the transfer of knowledge to end-users through various training vehicles
. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
. 4-5 years of experience in business analysis
. 3-4 years of project management experience
. Strong verbal and written communication skills
. Must be able to work independently and with groups of various sizes
. Must be able to manage vendor relationships
. Experience with multiple project/SDLC methodologies desired (e.g.: waterfall, RUP, Spiral, Agile/SCRUM)
. Experience with test management software
. Experience with managing new software development projects
. Experience with mainframe technologies
. Experience with web-based application projects
. Experience with secondary or post-secondary educational institutions
Environment:
IT environment is currently a hybrid, in transition from legacy AS/400 applications, the majority written in RPG and CL, to browser-based applications, the majority written in Java. DB2/400 continues to be the primary relational database (RDBMS) source, supplemented by PostgreSQL.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor
