The DIRECTV Protection Plan Business Analysis, Sr. responsible for understanding all aspects of customer acquisition for the Protection Plan business, conducting timely, meaningful, accurate analysis and reporting in the areas of customer acquisition, retention and life cycle, product positioning, and sales channel performance. This includes data analysis with observations and recommendations, generation, and delivery of weekly and monthly data and reports; ad hoc requests; and evaluation of potential opportunities to increase and maintain the Protection Plan customer base. This position requires working in conjunction with internal Protection Plan Management Team, as well as internal and external DIRECTV business partners, and providing high level and detailed analysis and recommendations presented to DIRECTV Senior Management, as well as internal and external business partners.
This position is based in Englewood, Colorado.
- Create accurate and detailed analyses and reporting in the areas of Protection Plan customer acquisition and retention, including product perception, customer characteristics and life cycle, cancellation behavior, targeted customer segmentation and niche marketing opportunities, key performance indicators, and other attributes of both Protection Plan and non-Protection Plan DIRECTV customers.
- Identify subscriber acquisition and retention opportunities within DIRECTV and DIRECTV Protection Plan customer bases, and provide tactical, actionable recommendations
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis through research and understanding of Protection Plan business processes and customer life-cycle, including recognize and critically evaluate trends within the data.
- Responsible for internal and external sales performance reporting and trending across multiple channels
- Track, analyze, interpret and report trends in data providing actionable recommendations that promote sales quality
- Provide support to develop, maintain and refine technical aspects of Protection Plan sales process through documentation, as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or related field required; five or more years experience primarily performing analysis for sales and business projects
- Ability to compile, analyze, filter, and evaluate data, preparing numerical and graphical reporting, and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to the business stakeholders and the Project team.
- Working knowledge of the Digital Broadcast Systems (DBS) Satellite industry and/or pay television platform strongly preferred
- SAS proficiency and working knowledge of Siebel Analytics (OBIEE) and Cognos Suite, Query Studio, Report Studio, and Analysis Studio required
- Proven understanding of Oracle and SQL Server
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g. Access and Excel, with working knowledge of PowerPoint, Map Points, Outlook, and Word
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including a qualitative and quantitative skill set
- Technical aptitude required, with solid understanding of external and internal factors that impact the business
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of management, multiple cross-functional groups, and diverse personalities is required
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as within a team environment
- Must have demonstrated understanding of business reporting principles, strong knowledge of business measurement theories and tools, with ability to analyze complex issues and formulate appropriate solutions.
