Sr Category and Sourcing Manager, Procurement

Amazon is looking for a high-energy, results oriented individual to assume responsibility for sourcing and managing our worldwide Services Category portfolio.  Our Category & Sourcing Managers (CSM's) create sourcing strategies that lay out clear action steps for identifying cost saving opportunities, engage and align the internal customer.   The successful individual will lead the Services category sourcing management team on a global basis and be part of the Procurement Leadership Team. The role is a combination leader of the group as well as an individual contributor on high profile value added engagements. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of 1 to 3 direct reports.   The Global Procurement and Sourcing team is a dynamic, flow to the work organization and its members are expected to work on areas outside of the strict job summary.  This individual should be comfortable supporting opportunities in other categories as priorities dictate.

• Proven negotiation and facilitation skills;
• Analytical, data driven Category approach with attention to detail;

• Category specific expertise; and
• Project Management Skills

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred)
• At least 8 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience.
• Prior experience managing others
• Familiarity with procurement systems, Oracle financial applications, other third party information systems and ability to learn proprietary systems.
