Major Responsibilities:

The Sr. Claims Manager will work with Claims Operations to implement operational excellence that supports the deep technical competencies and customer service focus of the Claims organization. The Manager will work closely with Claims and other business partners to effectively understand the unique needs of the Claims organization and develop, recommend, and implement solutions for meeting these needs including process mapping, division of labor, and the allocation of technology/tools across the multiple lines of business supported. They will serve as a key project team member and support business process improvement projects from conceptualization through implementation. Additional areas of focus for this key role include oversight and refinement of the Claim Operation’s core financial metrics such as the outstanding check report, duplicate issuance verification report, pending inventory report, and other reports and metrics as needed.

Key Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background of proven claims process improvement:

The “ideal” candidate must have:

  • 4+ yrs of proven claims process strategy and process improvement experience with a an insurer and/or consulting organization is required
  • Must demonstrate key competencies in business process design/engineering, continuous process improvement, and the identification of key performance gaps and metrics.
  • Experience must include at least 2-3 years on full life cycle reengineering projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly dynamic work environment that relies heavily on cross-functional interaction and relationships
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and have advanced MS Access and MS Excel skills as well as experience working with business process management tools such as Visio.
  • Proven people and project management, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills as well as the ability to work with and present to senior level management
  • Six Sigma and Lean Thinking training is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree is required and an MBA is preferred
