Evaluate, approve and support the clinical safety of finished formulations developed by, or acquired by
L'Oreal USA. The safety testing program consists of human test methodologies as well in-vitro methods.

II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

' Manage the clinical safety evaluation and testing of finished formulations for a category of products (eg Skin, Hair, Make-up or Fragrance).
' Work proactively on product launches with raw material toxicologists, formulation groups, external Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), and other support functions within
Central R & D and our French counterparts.
' Review clinical safety testing protocols and provide input to the overall safety risk assessment and clinical testing strategy. This will include the placement, monitoring, auditing and reporting on clinical studies conducted at the CROs.
' Provide scientific leadership to all aspects of clinical study design including protocol development, adherence to GCP standards (where applicable), statistical analysis and report generation.
' Provide appropriate clinical safety support and/or claim substantiation for finished products.
' Actively participate in harmonization of test protocols and clinical safety evaluation strategy for finished products between the US and Worldwide teams.
' Make presentations on key projects when needed to various functional groups as well as management in order to support/defend the clinical testing strategy.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS

' A Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Toxicology, Pharmacology, Dermatology or related science
' Good understanding of basic skin biology concepts relating to irritation, sensitization and photo-induced reactions as well as immunology and ocular irritation.
' Experience working on clinical studies on cosmetic and personal care products a plus
' Familiar with latest scientific literature on key developments in skin and hair research as it relates to clinical studies to support launch of various cosmetic products.
' Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
' Proficient with bio-statistical methods is useful
' Must be eligible to work in the USA on an on-going and long-term basis
