Senior Communications Specialist

The main responsibilities for the Sr. Communications Specialist will be:
- Write, edit and revise creative copy and provide design direction for each project/component
- Obtain copy direction from internal customer, prepare copy, edit and proofread to assure editorial standards
- Work with internal customer to develop strategies and to assure clarity and accuracy of each communications piece
- Act as liaison with external vendors in delivery of all stages of the communications development and distribution process
- Work with the design and production team to obtain production cost estimates
- Coordinates data collection and reviews against original request criteria and oversees the release of data to external vendors
- Consults with internal customers across the enterprise to develop strategic communications solutions consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Build fully detailed, timed project plans from concept and creative through production to response mechanisms and materials
- Develops appropriate solutions and schedules using internal and external resources
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong and demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work under pressure meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to set priorities in order to meet deadlines along with the ability to anticipate needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (English, Communications, Business preferred)
- Minimum of five to seven years of health care, managed care, writing communications experience
- Five years of health care (and/or related field) writing/editorial experience preferred
- Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
- Experience writing for a Web site a plus.
