Sr. Computer Security Specialist
About the Job
Jacob & Sundstrom Inc. is seeking a Senior Computer Security Specialist who will provide a variety of onsite and offsite Information Technology (IT) security support services to our customers nationwide. The Computer Security Specialist exercises diplomacy and good judgment while evaluating the technical, operational and physical information security of small to medium sized professional offices. The CSS assesses information security risks, threats, vulnerabilities; documents findings; and summarizes recommendations in written and oral form for customer. Offsite activities include email and phone support for customer inquiries, creation of technical and non-technical security guidance, and delivery of training materials in-person at customer events and in online media formats. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with significant experience in performing risk and vulnerability assessments or in another IT security area such as certification and accreditation (C&A), intrusion detection, or security administration of networks, systems and applications. The position annually requires 10-15 weeks of travel throughout the Required Knowledge and Hands-on Skills: 11-14 years combined education, work experience and certifications. Microsoft Windows Server and UNIX/Linux administration. Installation, configuration and use of Nessus and other IT assessment tools. Experience with VMWare or other virtual machine environment. Familiarity with current IT security products, tools and solutions. NIST Special Publications 800 series.Network security engineering and architecture.Configuration and concepts in Firewall, VPN, router, switch, wireless. Beneficial Certifications and Training: MCSE; ISC2: CISSP, CAP; SANS GIAC -Certification and Accreditation, Risk assessment and IT auditing Computer Forensics, Intrusion detection, incident response. Programming in VBS, Unix Shell scripting, PHP, Perl, SQL.
