Civil Engineering & Construction Management firm has immediate opportunity for a Sr. Construction Manager, with Engineering or Architectural Background; For large-scale Airport Modernization Project.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviews all design and CMAR (Construction Management At Risk) deliverables, bid packages, and contract documents related to the trade package's coordination and conformance to the program requirements.
- Participates in design progress, design coordination, and design review meetings to identify interfaces and coordination requirements.
- Assists in the development of budgets and schedules. Monitors design and construction against the project parameters.
- Participates in meetings with bidders and subcontractors (such as pre-bid, pre-award and preconstruction conferences, etc.) to monitor the CMAR procurement process and explain the Program requirements as appropriate.
- Provides construction management services to include assistance with pre-award activities, coordination of construction with affected airport users, management of quality assurance and quality control programs, assistance in managing the contract change and claims avoidance processes, and management of new facility start-up and acceptance associated with the designated packages and CGMP.
- Assists Airport in defining, selecting, procurement and administration of the construction packages including review of payment items, processing changes, and reviewing CMAR updates, submittals and reports for the designated packages.
- Reviews the documents for compliance with program requirements and constructability.
- Provides construction management services to include assistance with management of quality assurance and quality control programs, start-up, testing, commissioning and acceptance programs.
- Ensures that Monthly Reports describing all elements of packages are prepared and forwarded for review and approval.
Qualifications include:
- A BS/BA degree in Engineering or Architecture is required. Fifteen years of design and/or construction experience to include eight years at a supervisory level is required.
- Five years management level experience of design and construction of airport facilities and five years experience as a project manager on complex curtain wall and roof installation project(s) are required.
- Demonstrates good potential as shown by satisfactory past performance and growth in technical and management responsibilities.
- Evidence of supervisory experience, initiative, judgment and ability required to assume the total leadership for a complete.
- Experience in working with senior management personnel in the client's organization as well as contractor's management is required.
- Professional registration and/or advanced degree and an uncommon ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing are required.
