Sr. Contract Administrator

The Esterline Control Systems Group is a group of four companies that specializes in human-machine interfaces for aerospace, defense, and other industries that demand high reliability in challenging environments.  A member of this group, Korry Electronics, is searching for a Sr. Contract Administrator.  Korry is located in Everett, Washington in our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, has 560 employees and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Esterline Technologies, a worldwide aerospace technology company headquartered in Bellevue. 

The Sr. Contract Administrator is responsible for negotiation and management of new large, complex contracts, negotiation of scope changes, monitoring the performance and ensuring compliance of complex existing programs with major aerospace customers.  This position also participates in proposal preparation; performs contract review and acceptance; assists Sales, Program Managers and Business Unit VPs in solving challenges such as questions regarding risk, profit, special contractual provisions, customer expectations, etc. Our Sr. Contract Administrators also serve as the focal point for export issues (ITAR and EAR) for our military, commercial pand dual-use products.

For contract programs with no assigned Program Manager, the Sr. Contract Administrator is assigned all program responsibility from contract award to hardware delivery, including coordination of company department to insure contract compliance.

This is a senior, non-management position and requires the exercise of independent judgment. The position requires a 4-year degree in addition to 6+ years’ direct aerospace and defense contract administration and export experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage scope of the work and schedule to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure contract compliance throughout the company
  • Effectively manage change control and issue resolution
  • Generate new ideas, procedures and processes that will have a positive effect on customer satisfaction
  • Act as an effective advocate for both Korry and our customers
  • Prepare contractual correspondence and documentation from pre-award through closure
  • Monitor external business conditions and be aware of events in the industry
  • Administer complex contracts with best practices to eliminate non-value added/non-essential activities
  • Assist with establishing work standards for contract administration within a team environment.

 Key Requirements:

  • Experience with commercial aerospace and federal government contract terms, FAR, and flow-down requirements
  • Experience with developing strategies for negotiations and conducting negotiations
  • Experience with ITAR compliance, including commodity jurisdiction requests, Technical Assistance Agreements and licensing
  • Experience with Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of Korry and customer management and staff
  • Proven track record of success in collaborative management style and the ability to work closely in a cross-functional environment
