Sr. Data Analyst

About the Job

This position supports the MS Data Team and is part of the Global Data Practice team in KBMG.  The Senior Data will analyze, recommend,  and initiate new technological or business solutions to meet the needs of the client.  The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for analysis and interpretation of agency clients’ internal and external data sources to support business decision-making and will develop, maintain, and monitor various system applications to ensure capability, functionality and accuracy of information reported through both interpretation and analysis.  The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication, technical and advanced troubleshooting skills and have strong multi-tasking capabilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

       

·         Evaluate clients’ business situations and recommend appropriate analytic approach.

·         Manage key analytic portions of a project from start to finish

1.      Design research methodology and/or analytic framework

2.      Select appropriate tools and technique

3.      Data sourcing - coordinate data feeds and updates

4.      Data preparation

5.      Data analysis/Modeling

6.      Conclusions/recommendations

·         Prepare functional specifications for set up of systems and processes

·         Prepare written analysis and present findings

·         Active contribution to project planning and scheduling

·         Provide statistical consulting (e.g. working with clients and agency personnel to determine the validity and significance of observed program results)

·         Act as team lead to other analysts and/or coordinators on various projects

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Excellent organizational and communication skills.   
  • 5+  years experience as data analyst or equivalent
  • Understanding of Database Marketing principles including measurement, testing, relational databases, and campaign workflow
  • Comfortable working with multiple databases and sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Access, flat data files, proprietary databases, web-based interfaces, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Complete comfort with Microsoft Suite, including MS Project, PowerPoint, and Exce
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles
  • Growing effectiveness and versatility in oral presentation
  • Solid business writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry dynamics in one or more areas of concentration
  • Consistency in delivering error-free work, on time, at standards that meet or exceed agency client expectations
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills.
