We have 2 divisions within Arcadian; the Management Services Organization (MSO) and the Arcadian Health Plan (AHP). We provide both management services, but also healthcare options in rural markets. We've nearly doubled in size over the past 5 years, are continuing to grow and expand with substantial growth expected in 2010. Position Summary: The Sr. Data Finance Analyst is responsible for managing all IPA financial reporting databases in support of the month end close process, routine financial reporting and ad-hoc analyses. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of all existing SQL and Visual Basic code, routine enhancements and the expansion of codes in support of ever increasing analytic needs. Assignments include day to day administration of tasks, the development and monitoring of processes, identification of trends and any related reporting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Manage and process SQL/Access database system, routine monthly updating of data imported into system, as well as processing all queries that update the system for monthly reporting. 2. Maintain Access based “Management Reporting Tool” updating and reprogramming existing reports as well as creating new analytic analyses/tools. 3. Review and correct programs. Confer with co-workers to determine the impact of database changes on other systems. 4. Generate monthly reporting packages from “Management Reporting Tool”. 5. Prepare timely and accurate analyses of monthly revenue, cost and lag trends in support of management decision making and client financial performance optimization. Among other facets, this may include presentation of utilization by line of business or specialty along with associated PMPM costs and MCRs. 6. Submit recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation and use of financial data. 7. Assist in the preparation of interim and year end information for use by external auditors. 8. Support management in ad-hoc analytic needs including the evaluation of various contracting opportunities. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university and a minimum of 5 years progressive financial experience within an IPA, hospital or health plan setting is highly desirable. Previous management/supervisory experience desired. Ability to read and analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to in verbal and written form.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Candidate should be a quick learner, have strong organizational and problem solving skills and be an independent thinker with a proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must have demonstrated ability to lead a team, interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and foster a spirit of cooperation. Self motivated and goal oriented. Detail oriented, deadline driven and highly organized. Able to take initiative to make and/or adapt to changes and process improvements.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including use of pivot tables, formulas and the importing/exporting of data from ODBC sources), Access, SQL and Visual Basic required.
Strong background in quantitative analysis performed against large data sets residing in SQL databases. Strong financial modeling and analytical approach and continual sense of good judgment and dependability. Strong industry understanding. Strategic thinking and good communication skills.
