Sr. Design Engineer Manager - Vacuum System - Oregon

About the Job

My semiconductor equipment manufacturing client is in need of a Sr Manager with the following qualifications:

1.                   5+ years experience in the Semiconductor Industry

2.                   2+ years experience in a people management role

3.                   Experience should be focused on design and development, specifically subject matter expert in the design and development of vacuum chamber systems used in thin film deposition

4.                  Project Managers or manufacturing managers are not a fit, must have design experience with management of a medium size engineering design group.


Directs and guides the activities of a mechanical systems and equipment design function. Manages and analyzes the testing and feasibility studies of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies, and packaging for new and existing products.

Directs the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing and drafting organizations.

Evaluates final results of mechanical design and test to assure accomplishment of technical objectives.

Ensures that proper documentation, such as test specifications and procedures, is provided to the appropriate functional area.

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

SCOPE: Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.

JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company “politics.” Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.

DISCRETION: Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations, and may jeopardize overall business activities.

INTERACTION: Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

 

Salary: Open with profit sharing and stock options

Must relocate to Portland Oregon – client will relocate candidate to Oregon
