Sr. Documentation Project Coordinator

About the Job

JOB OVERVIEW:

 

Proofreader, editor, and project coordinator responsible for development of user documentation for laptop computers and peripherals, working with various Toshiba internal groups/departments and outside agencies. Involves interaction with technical product management, strategic customer marketing, software and hardware engineering, and technical support staff  to produce documentation items that ship with each unit.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Proofread and edit end user documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coordinate and monitor documentation projects (User’s Guides, Quick Start Cards, Resource Guides and various other documents) as well as any/all universal text changes that apply to these documents.
  • Develop project schedules, track project process and maintain an organized matrix of projects in process with detailed accuracy.
  • Manage outside agencies (technical writers, translators, graphic designers, etc.) to maintain project flow and bring projects to completion on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist with other departmental projects as needed and perform other duties as may be assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • BA/BS in English, Business Administration, Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and related business experience.
  • Plus a minimum of 4 years of directly applicable experience in project coordination in the computer technology field.
  • Knowledge of AP style guide, grammar, spelling, strong proofreading and editing skills required.
  • Familiarity with printing process and artwork requirements.
  • Work experience in coordinating projects and communicating with multiple agencies and across functional lines.
  • Ability to handle high volume of work in various stages of completion and successfully bring them to completion on schedule.
  • Ability to take total ownership and drive projects from beginning to end, working with multiple internal groups, departments and outside agencies effectively.
  • Working proficiency with full MS Office professional suite; working knowledge of graphics and desktop publishing software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize activities in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep projects on schedule and within budget with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task in fast moving, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record for developing effective working relationships (both internal and external), building team consensus, and collaborating across functional lines.
