Department Description: Professional & Commercial Radio & Accessories is a department within the Enterprise Mobility Solutions business responsible for commercial radio solutions and global accessory solutions for all radio businesses including APCO, Tetra, PCR. This position is with the global accessory team.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Candidate will be responsible for design and development of analog and digital audio block circuits in Smart Audio Accessories to optimize accessory audio performance in conjunction with the host radio acoustic line up. Candidate will be responsible for the audio electro-mechanical design of new platform accessory products, achieving desired frequency response with acceptable THD given a particular host radio's DSP audio shaping algorithms. Candidate will responsible for all project development stages from concept design through product design certification validation testing.

Knowledge Skills: demonstrated experience with design and development of audio block analog and digital circuits, embedded system design required

knowledge of and experience with DSP audio algorithm processing desired

knowledge in and experience with 3GPP/AMPS Terminal acoustic characteristics for telephony desired

demonstrated experience with audio measurement systems such as SoundCheck required.

familiarity with and understanding of dBphon audio loudness scale desired

knowledge of and ability to set up RF uplink/downlink for acoustic radio system measurement desired.

ability to apply acoustic theory to electrical and mechanical design desired

acoustic simulation knowledge and experience desired

experience with Bluetooth audio performance, noise reduction technologies, and Bluetooth profiles desired

working knowledge of Cadence, ADS (simulation), or similar tools; statistical basics understanding desired

experience with factory acoustic test development desired.

Willingness to do what it takes to meet short program schedules in fast paced multi program environment required

Some travel required for factory support (Mexico, Penang Malaysia, China) and/or next generation radio platform development (Plantation FL, Copenhagen, Penang) required

Basic Qualifications: bachelors degree
3+ years experience in electrical or hardware design
must have experience with one of the following: audio, dsp, bluetooth or digital design
