Job Description:



In this position you will provide Components Electrical Systems engineering design, procurement, and vendor manufacturing analysis through component selection, evaluation and problem resolution. The successful candidate will ensure that Technical Data Package and Systems Hardware meets contractual, quality, cost and delivery requirements by planning, organizing, and advising/recommending on manufacturing and procurement by performing reengineering techniques to obsolete components. The successful candidate will provide recommendations for replacement and redesign to system component obsolete candidates. The engineering methods include Product Specification analysis, redesign, possible reverse engineering, and testing.







The Electrical Engineer will interact daily with other Cross Business Teams (CBTs), Program Management Offices (PMOs) and suppliers to maintain and meet program goals and objectives. The successful candidate will also maintain and expand a technical interface with internal and external vendor component suppliers and various engineering disciplines. Provide guidance on component reliability and quality as it applies to various environmental and system requirements. Assist in the development of parts selection and standardization strategies, incorporating diverse availability, reliability requirements and application concerns. The successful candidate may participate in the design of fixtures and tooling.







Maintaining cost, quality, delivery, safety, and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities are critical performance criteria for this position.



Required Skills:



* Four (4) plus years in a related engineering discipline or in design of/with Mechanical/Electrical components.



* Experience with military standards and government standards/specifications.



* Experience with Electrical Engineering.



* Understanding component evaluation/screening techniques.



* Experience in the development of Certificate of Compliances (COCs) with the suppliers.



* Experience in First Article Inspections assuring hardware meets all quality requirements flowed down from the programs.



* Experience in creating and updating work instructions for use by manufacturing operations



* Experience in developing and maintaining detailed manufacturing standards by operation.



* Able to obtain DOD Secret Clearance.



Desired Skills:



* Ability to work with suppliers to ensure schedule and technical issues are resolved.



* Knowledge or experience with welding, brazing and soldering techniques.



* Experience with Obsolescence Materials.



Required Education:



4 Years with a B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
