Description
The Field Training and Education Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing customer training programs that will increases the effectiveness of the Tacura team in achieving its strategic objectives, including sales goals. The activities will include developing and coordinating customer education programs, providing technical product information and collaborating in product troubleshooting with the Tacura team.
This position will have multiple demands with time constraints. The person in the position must meet the training needs for Tacura products in blood centers and hospitals, with awareness of the need for customers to comply with FDA, AABB and facility regulations and standards. The person must be able to determine customer needs and communicate the requests internally. The person must be able to work in a team environment to meet the business goals.

Position Requirements
The Field Training and Education Specialist will develop and deliver high caliber training and education program that will affect the reputation, image and effectiveness of the entire business unit. Top level training and education is the cornerstone of an effective organization. It will be necessary to work within the Tacura budget.
1. Develop educational materials, including train-the-trainer curricula, competency assessment tools and sample operating procedures. Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
2. Teach blood center and hospital personnel, and Terumo sales and service personnel, to operate new blood collection equipment, in small and large meeting settings
3. Support customers in product implementation, including validation, troubleshooting and quality control activities
4. Collaborate with development, service, manufacturing and sales people in problem-solving
5. Support sites in on-going clinical trials
6. Participate actively building a better, customer-oriented business, in a fast-paced field environment with a team that includes sales, development, service and clinical groups
7. Collect market intelligence
8. Comply with Terumo policies and procedures
9. Continue self-education, through professional meetings, courses and literature
Necessary Skills:
Clear and polite communication with customers and Terumo team members
Ability to master complexity of hardware, software and disposable kit system
Ability to listen, understand and teach about the system in a way that each student can understand
Knowledge of transfusion medicine, apheresis, donor management, validation and quality control, and adherence to FDA regulations
Experience At least seven years experience training personnel in a medical setting, as a vendor representative, required
Blood banking experience is preferred
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
Life science, laboratory, SBB or nursing education is recommended
Competence using Microsoft Office programs
