This position is for the organizations US Accounting / Finance Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA 30326

**The key skill/profile for this position is a candidate with a CPA and Public Accounting experience and financial modeling in the insurance or reinsurance industry; someone looking for growth potential, NOT overqualified.**


 


Responsibilities:


•           Prepare internal management reports and analysis for the US division including:


o          Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements by business units/divisions.


o          Prepare and analyze balance sheet by business units/divisions.


o          Collect and analyze claims, expense, investment, production data, etc. on a monthly basis and incorporate into monthly Management Book.


•           Budgeting and forecasting for the different business units and consolidated results.


•           Carry out analytical assignments of a broad and complex nature.


•           Assist with special projects as assigned.


•           Prepare quarterly board package for finance


•           Prepare forecasted P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements for internal and regulatory customers


•           Create and maintain capital adequacy models.


 


Qualifications:


•           Broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.


•           Understanding of accounting fundamentals and related financial statements.


•           Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


•           Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to establish and cultivate internal working relationships & ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team, including supervision of staff.


•           Exceptional analytical, problem solving and communication (oral and written) skills.


•           Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.


•           Flexibility to work in a dynamic and sometimes stressful and demanding environment, other requiring extended hours.


•           Ability to work well in a team environment.


•           Strong knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (especially excel), Oracle reporting tools.


•           Working knowledge of GAAP.


 


Education / Experience:


•           Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.


•           5 to 7 years of experience. 


•           Planning / financial modeling background preferred.


•           Public accounting experience required and industry experience a plus.


•           CPA required


•           Insurance experience preferred.
