CONFECTION/HEALTH CARE

Symrise, “where Science and Sensation meet,” is the world's 4th largest manufacturer of flavors, fragrances and cosmetic & aroma ingredients.  We are currently seeking a self-motivated candidate with strong technical knowledge of ingredients and the manufacturing processes used in health care and food products to create and develop food product concepts & protocepts for customer presentation.  You'll support sales at the customer level; lead projects from conception to commercialization; demonstrate Symrise’s technical capabilities by utilizing flavors & ingredients; assist customers in solving technical product-related challenges; stay abreast of industry trends and support our ongoing new business efforts.

To qualify, you'll need a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Food Chemistry (a Master’s degree is preferred), 7+ years' flavor, food ingredient, health care or product development experience; strong knowledge of flavor applications, health care, food processing and customer products, specifically in the health care and confections industry, and the ability to solve flavor & food ingredient related processing issues.  The successful candidate must taste and evaluate over the counter (OTC) active materials.  Strong customer contacts are essential. The position works closely with in-house flavor developers, sales, and marketing as well as external customers, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.  Strong project management skills and knowledge of MS Office are a must!  Occasional travel to Symrise customers is also required.
