  • Must work closely with employees, supervisors, and managers to understand the needs and wants of both sides to successfully drive improvement and implement change.
  • Provides leadership for HR initiatives and brokering the delivery of HR services.
  • Works with employees, supervisors and managers one on one or in a group setting to effectively coach and counsel them on performance and/or interpersonal deficiencies.
  • Plans, schedules and facilitates Quarterly Meetings and Round Tables, follows up on action items from these communication/feedback forums. 
  • Coordinates the process of recruiting, selecting and making job offers to the best candidate possible for production and entry level office candidates in a timely and cost efficient manner.  Responsible for utilizing temporary agencies, interacting with the Staffing Manager when necessary to update or ask for assistance with hard to fill positions and coordinating the internal interview process.  Responsible for Affirmative Action and EEO requirements during the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Responsible for thorough orientation of new hires by introducing them to the culture, policies and people of the organization.
  • Recommend training programs, and maintain training records and job descriptions; coordinate and develop in-house training programs
  • Consult with supervisors and managers on performance and development needs for their employees
  • Be familiar with all Leave of Absence policies and procedures related to Workers' Compensation, FMLA, CFRA, PDA, Personal LOA's and other leave programs.  Interact with those on LOA to ensure all their needs are met and that their exit and return to work is a smooth and easy process. 
  • Work with supervisors and managers during the termination process to exit the employee properly, ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and issued at termination, conduct exit interviews and log answers
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and be present during disciplinary meetings
  • Interacts with employees that are injured on the job to ensure they receive proper treatment and are returned to work as soon as possible.  Works on processes and training opportunities in conjunction with the EH&S Specialist, to minimize the costs of workers compensation injuries.
  • With the support of the HR Manager acts as consultant and coach for managers and employees concerning organizational structures, organizational development, and implementation of change
  • Conducts investigations when necessary into any serious complaints brought forward such as sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes and other sensitive issues
  • Ensures all new hires enroll in the Health and Welfare program in a timely manner.  Partners with the benefits department to resolve all complicated benefits problems.  Administers annual enrollment for assigned group of employees.
  • Ensures that all data entry, reporting and record keeping is up to date and accurate. 
  • Participates in safety committee and supports safety initiatives as needed
  • Administers annual performance review process.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by senior management

* 5 + years of Human Resources experience with one-year of recruitment experience preferred.
* Prefer extensive employee relations experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field.
* HR Certificate or specialized training in the HR field preferred
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret complicated information
* High attention to detail and high level of accuracy in daily work required
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients and the public, both one on one and in front of large audiences
* Ability to solve complex and practical problems and deal with a variety of variables within each problem.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
* Current knowledge of all employment related laws and practices
* Proficient planning, time management and decision making skills
* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
* Must have the ability to organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced changing business environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with People Soft or other HRIS system

Basic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. A relatively high level of analytical ability is required to resolve moderately difficult human resources issues and assist in the development of policies, procedures, and programs.
2. A high level of communication skill is required to explain policies, participate in departmental task forces and hold meaningful discussions with employees and managers.
3. A high level of independent thinking and decision making ability required.
