THE OPPORTUNITY: Sr. Hardware Engineer

LOCATION: Washington, DC 20001









Job Description :



Develop detailed interfaces between hardware and software components of the system from the highest level of an N-squared diagram down to the specific hardware that comprise each of the interfaces and detailed formats of the data flowing across each of the interfaces. Perform a disciplined system engineering approach to the definition, development, and analysis of the integration of interfaces and control systems for a software and hardware system of systems.



Primary duties include the development of N2 diagramming and Interface Control documents for a complex system. Develop system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control documents, use cases, system architecture descriptions, trade studies, etc). Use systems engineering tools for requirements management in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions engineering standard processes and methods. Specific tasks include definition of higher-level performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of functional requirements, allocation of requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation. Duties will be performed at a high level without appreciable direction. May function in a project leadership role in guiding work packages to successful completion.





Required Skills :



Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or technical field and a minimum of



6+ years hardware engineering experience. Must have experience with modern systems engineering methods for requirements analysis (use cases, activity diagrams), requirements management, and architecture definition.



Desired Skills :



Desired experience with the DOORS requirements management tool. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
