An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Sr. Human Resource Manager located at UOP's headquarters facility in Des Plaines, IL.  This Senior Human Resources role will provide HR leadership and be responsibility for the Specialty Materials, UOP Technology organization, consisting of approximately 650 employees in the Des Plaines, IL and Riverside, IL locations. The position will report to the Director of Human Resource for Specialty Materials Technology in Morristown, NJ. This position has one direct report, also located in Des Plaines.



Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR leadership and support to the UOP Technology organization.

  • Participate as a key member of the UOP Technology leadership team in setting and implementing human resources strategies.

  • Lead implementation of change initiatives in conjunction with functional leadership.

  • Lead and assume ownership and accountability of key HR processes, including talent acquisition, compensation planning, performance management, employee development, and retention.

  • Ensure an effective MRR and talent review process is being utilized throughout the organization.

  • Partner with and leverage HR Centers of Excellence (COE).

  • Participate on project teams and lead implementation of change initiatives that impact delivery of HR policies, practices and services.

  • Provide counsel to client managers on handling of employee issues and maintaining positive employee relations.


Basic Candidate Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is required.

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive professional Human Resources experience is required.

  • US Work Authorization. 

Additional Candidate Requirements: 
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MA/MS) in HR related field is preferred.

  • Demonstrated breadth of experience and knowledge of contemporary HR practices.

  • Solid understanding of HR systems, tools, policies, and practices.

  • Six Sigma green belt certification preferred.

  • Ability to quickly develop strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated success in championing and implementing change.

  • Strong influencing skills and abilities.
