Sr. Hybrid Powertrain Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Senior Hybrid Electric Powertrain Engineer will work as part of the integrated Hybrid Electric Drive team.
- Perform all analysis of the new design to ensure the transfer case and associated hardware, suspension, etc… will withstand daily operations.
- Mechanical Design & Analysis oversight at sub-system and vehicle system levels, Electrical Design & Analysis oversight at sub-system and vehicle systems levels, Thermodynamics Analysis oversight at sub-system and vehicle system levels and Control Systems integration oversight for sub-system and vehicle system levels.
- Work on all phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, engine testing, data analysis and validation.
- Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues.
- Identify and support business and strategic company development activities.
Required Skills:
- BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous Hybrid Electric Powertrain Integration experience including high voltage electrical systems preferred.
- Understand the fundamentals of engines, transmissions, transfer case, gearbox, electric drives and battery regeneration.
- Comprehensive understanding of systems development life cycle and systems engineering role throughout life cycle.
- Experience in powertrain/propulsion performance analysis.
- Candidate must have a strong aptitude on Hybrid powertrain packaging and theory of operation with design experience.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and applicable analysis tools.
