Sr. IT Process Improvement Specialist – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Job Description:

• Champions an excellent understanding of business area best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs; identifies company-wide business processes requiring improvement and implements remediation procedures

 

• Develop and deliver continuous improvement processes and best practices

 

• Excellent understanding of software applications and a strong technical proficiency to improve business efficiency through the use of such automated means.

 

• Assess organization’s current capabilities, and defines opportunities including evaluation of software or “tool” selection to create business value for the client (CRM, Sales, Supply Chain, MES, core business processes as Finance, HR, etc…)

 

• Manages project working in concert with IT PM, if required, for complex business area initiatives, ensuring that assigned areas are fully represented on corporate strategic projects and can act as project manager from time-to-time to delivery complete business solution.

• Develops metrics and / or measurements that link to business objectives.

• Assesses business operational readiness for implementation

Responsibilities:

• Analysis complex business processes and recommends ways to enable improved efficiencies and controls across multiple functional areas:  sales, marketing, finance, operations, manufacturing, quality, procurement, legal, technology & human resource.

 

• Responsible for developing the business needs and translating those requirements and use cases to the project managers and designers, and ensures a clear and complete understanding of the requirements.

 

• Works with other architects and project managers to explore specific solutions and define the scope of the project and solution recommendations to meet agreed upon business goals.


• Serve as liaison to the internal BP Solar and greater BP IT and business community, to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team.  

 

• Develops detailed project plan, cost and resource requirements.

• Manages project team for complex business area initiatives, ensuring that assigned areas are fully represented on corporate strategic projects, that projects are fully vetted and recommendations for solution presented to CIO and to the BP Solar Leadership Team for implementation approval.

• Develops metrics and / or measurements that link to business objectives to assure the return on the investment of the project/s are met.

• Stays current on all functional industry best practices.

 

• Support to project manager about project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule.

 

Requirements:

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

 

• Knowledge of Business Processes, Business Process Redesign and Industry Best Practices: process architecture design, stage gate process, process management and support, knowledge sharing.

 

• Strong skills in communication, formal presentation, change management and operational excellence.

 

• Strong customer focus with demonstrated success in problem solving, teamwork and drive toward quality.

• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, collaboration and coaching skills.

• Knowledge of enterprise software applications, such as, ERP, CRM and MES are critical success factors for this role.

• Knowledge of IT Business Management practices such as, CMM, ITIL, PMI, SOX, etc…


• Ability to work effectively under deadline pressures and independently.

• Strategic planning and decision-making skills and ability to interact with top management.

Experience Needed:

7-10+ years experience in a fully integrated, international manufacturing operations with specific focus on experience in:  International Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Logistics responsible for leading business process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge with Project Management tools such as MS Project. 

Knowledge of SalesForce.com & Oracle eBusiness Suite preferred.


Education: 

Minimum BS degree in IT or in related field w/ significant relevant experience. 

MBA degree preferred.

Six Sigma Black Belt Certified – required.
