Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, RTSC operates in 50 states, 101 countries, and all seven continents Job Description: The position is located at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) supporting the enterprise Combat Training Center Instrumentation System (CTC-IS). The successful candidate will work closely with other CTC-IS Systems Administrators and be part of an on-site team that provides enterprise wide support for the mission-critical systems that comprise our training environment. The ORACLE DBA will assist with allocating storage structures, create and modify database objects, develop scripts, stored procedures, triggers and database software packages, implement database backup and validate recovery plans, design database security roles, enroll users and audit database security, tune systems and applications, provide capacity planning, monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems, provide assistance with vendor's technical support, formulate and institute standards and procedures relating to database management, follow change management policies to migrate corrections and enhancements though database environments, coordinate with system administration and application development teams in matters such as sizing and application design, provide back tier support for databases and applications, and participate in related application development or systems administration. Required Skills: The candidate MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE. The candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience with high availability Oracle database management systems, monitor Oracle database performance and immediately respond and correct problems that cause the database to go down. The selected candidate must provide reports to management indicating current system performance, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems that prevent proper operation of the database, perform the activities needed to successfully refresh copies of the production database (when refresh is needed). The candidate should have knowledge of Army systems and DIACAP requirements a plus, knowledge of RAC or Enterprise Elements a plus. The candidate may be required to work some after hours (nights and weekends) to support 24/7 uptime requirement. The selected candidate will be responsible for training and complying with all OSHA and Company safety requirements and will wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as applicable. Must have a valid Driver's License. Desired Skills: 3+ years Oracle DBA on multiple instances, 2+ years DBA experience on Oracle 10G/RAC. Required Education: B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (Master's degree preffered). May accept equivalent work experience in lieu of educational requirements.
