Job Purpose:
Designs, integrates, and implements network-, system- and application-level security. Defines standards to ensure the security of NCCI's information systems while meeting the needs of the business. Provides technical guidance to Development, Data Security and System Administration teams.

Major Duties:
Define and document information security principles, practices and associated metrics reporting.

Analyze existing security environment, design, and integrate new security-related technologies and tools.

Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Security Staff.

Represent NCCI as a Subject Matter Expert and lead security conversations in multi-disciplinary team settings of subject matter experts, vendors, and subcontractors.

Provide technical expertise in penetration test execution and system hardening.

Monitor security systems and define alert thresholds and remediation.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Six plus years data security experience.

(ISC)2 Certified Information Security Specialist Professional (CISSP)

Professional experience in several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products, and current internet technology. Strong UNIX, Windows, Oracle & database security experience and familiarity with web based applications. Ability to multi-task. Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver. Ability to be creative and think out of the box. Understanding of industry security best practices. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
Ethical Hacker (CEH) and/or SANS GIAC Certifications
