Sr Manager, Government Sales

Senior Manager, Government Sales (West Region)



Job Summary:


The Senior Manager, Government Sales (West Region) is responsible for implementing the strategic goals of the Government Division with a principal focus on the support of specific government agencies. The Sr. Sales Manager has the primary responsibility of directly managing a team of Account Managers and Executives. Our Accounts Executives are tasked with developing strategic relationships and driving account acquisition, while our Account Managers focus on managing and implementing solution-based sales strategies all within specific government agencies. As Sr. Sales Manager you will ensure all Account Executives and Managers meet and exceed all contract acquisition, sales, operational, and performance objectives by providing training, development and coaching


The Sr. Sales Manager will also drive initiatives which will enhance the Government Divisional Sales internal/external customer experience, have direct interaction with Sales Leadership, Sales Staff, and Customers and maintain cross-channel relationships with the BPS Government sales team and T-Mobile Retail/RPS channels



Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of 8 - 10 Account Executives and Managers selling wireless data and voice services to government agencies.


  • Acquire new strategic contracts by building relationships with high-level buying influences in key government agencies.


  • Ensure the sales team meet and exceed all sales, operational, and performance objectives by providing training, development and coaching.


  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising the Account Executives and Managers and maintaining appropriate staffing levels to achieve balance between gross activation, CPGA &salesproductivity goals


  • Other duties include developing & implementing recognition programs, conducting sales meetings, managing compensation programs, and other projects as directed by management.


  • Resolving internal / external customer issues


  • Collaborate with cross channel partners (Government BPS sales, Retail, and RPS) and obtain necessary resources to execute needed initiatives.


  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Job Requirements:



  • 5+ years Government direct/indirect sales experience and proven track record of success.


  • 5+ years Sales Management experience managing Enterprise/National Accounts/Government sales teams.


  • 5+years offield business to business sales management experience in a commissioned, quota driven environment.


  • Established sales experience within the wireless or telecom


  • Strong customer relations and negotiation skills required


  • Strong ability to lead and guide decision making in business solutions


  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of building winning teams and implementing sales strategies to achieve company objectives.


  • Outstanding leadership skills; a strategic business leader able to align with company's culture and values.


  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.


  • Demonstrated high ethical behavior, unquestionable integrity and character.


  • Strong level of commitment to customer satisfaction


  • Human Resources and Recruiting skills.


  • Proven success in managing P&L.


  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Travel Requirements:



  • Approximate 30% of time traveling


  • Interfacing with Government Customers, Partners, and Support Teams


  • Primarily Western Region, with some National travel
