DESCRIPTION
- Works with peers within and outside the formulation development group to accomplish project objectives by planning and implementing activities required to meet deliverables in a timely manner.
- Expected to have hands on experience in conducting essential tests and experiments to accomplish objectives and goals.
- The scientist is expected to provide verbal and written progress reports on the projects within their group as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring that communication with other R&D functions, such as Analytical Development, Project Management, Clinical Supplies, Regulatory Affairs and Technical Services is maintained to ensure that project milestones are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The candidate should possess following qualifications: Prior experiences in pharmaceutical excipient characterization using rheology, DSC, particle size analysis and texture analysis.
- Hydrocolloid characterization including gelatin, starch, cellulose, pectin and carrageen.
- Conduct gel strength, viscosity, gelling and melting point measurements using instruments.
- Softgel drug delivery platform development including delayed release, extended release and tailored made release profiles.
- Ability to prepare protocols, batch paper work for bench top, pilot and full scale trials. Hand on experiences in conducting the trials, including sample collection and analyses, data collection and analyses.
- Statistics knowledge including design of experiment (factorial and response surface), ANDV A, multivariate, regression and quality by design concept.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Ph.D. degree in Material Science, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering
