Sr. Medical Technologist

  • Performs Microbiology testing to include at least one specialty of virology, mycology, parasitology, or mycobacteriology. Reviews test results, performs technical troubleshooting.Monitors daily assignment workflow. Supervises weekend technologist. Administrative functions such as material management, quality assurance, competency evaluation, training, procedure reviews and writing. Job requirements include: Competence in technical ability, a high degree of testing accuracy and laboratory techniques, sterile technique, problem solving skills, multitasking skills, good decision making processes and ability to prioritize, ability to work well under very stressful situations, and ability to work as part of a team. Requires 2 years of satisfactory work experience in an accredited clinical laboratory, including 1 year in a laboratory with range and volume of testing, and types of instrumentation similar to this institution. Level of knowledge generally obtained through a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college oor university. ASCP or NCA certification required. TN
