Description:
Position Overview:
Provide network design, strategic leadership, and support the implementation and operational team in a 24x7 networking environment as needed. Support voice/data systems for an international enterprise network. Work in a high paced dynamic environment including contact centers, e-commerce, data centers and wide area networks.

Responsibilities:
• Provide escalation support for troubleshooting of unique problems.
• Serve as highest level technical resource for a networking technology.
• Work outside immediate discipline to coordinate a group of people in troubleshooting a wide-scale problem; serve as point-of-contact across several areas or disciplines to solve major network outages with high impact or visibility.
• Provide expert technical advice and counsel to management and to less experienced infrastructure developers.
• Evaluate, recommend, and select appropriate hardware and software for voice and data network infrastructure.
• Recommend voice and data network integration required to support business applications needs.
• Perform cost/benefit analysis on more complex projects.
• Perform lead role in reviewing vendor proposals and making recommendations.
• Undertake the most complex capacity planning, analysis, and engineering design changes.
• Lead implementation and deployment efforts on large projects.
• Design and lead implementation of hardware/software/environment standards based on business strategy and architecture.
• Work as a lead on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Develop and interpret voice or data network design and solutions to meet immediate and future business needs.

Qualifications:
• Expert understanding of hardware, software, and networking components of local, wide area and TDM/IP-based telephony networks.
• Lead project teams in the design of complex network architectures.
• Provide strategic direction for the development of complex network designs to maximize efficiency and minimize operating costs.
• Determine optimum service levels based on business requirements and architecture capability.
• Coordinate and develop the policies and procedures for voice/data network security audits.
• Expert understanding of network management systems and utilities.
• Expert knowledge of how new or upgraded product solution will improve current business operations to prepare users for implementation.
• Develop plans for disaster recovery.
• Define deployment objectives and monitoring overall implementation plan, timing, budget, and key milestones for multiple projects.
• Collaborate with customers to define deployment expectations and ensuring consistency with strategic direction.
• Coach others in the execution of the testing, piloting, installation and implementation activities on schedule and within budget, and providing expertise when needed.
• Collaborate in the evaluation of how future technology solutions might impact future deployment strategies.

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
• 8 or more years related experience required.
• 6-8 years in an IT functional role.
• B.A./B.S. (M.A./M.S. preferred) in related field or equivalent required.
• Management/Supervision Training or equivalent experience required
• Avaya/Cisco/Nortel Certified Training or equivalent experience required
• CISCO CCIE Network and Voice certifications or equivalent experience required
