Title: Sr. Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Description:
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will manage and maintain in-house Oracle Databases as well as support application servers and custom applications. This includes supervising all activities including: installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all DS Application Servers and Databases while ensuring its optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. Work with developer and server team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability
- Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
- Trend analysis to the service development and management team
- Maintenance of the databases to include patching, rollouts and upgrades
- Testing, implementation and release of configurations changes
- Complete Database changes as submitted by the development team
- Coordinate and perform server configuration
- Provide technical and software support to developers and end-users
- Install, configure, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade Application hardware, software, and related equipment, while ensuring its optimal performance
- Provide technical assistance and training to end-users
- Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion
- Maintain working knowledge of products and/or services
- Prepare reports, metrics and correspondence as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years experience managing Oracle 9i and 10g databases
- Strong SQL experience and skills
- Strong understanding of database architecture including processes, structures - Strong understanding of entity relational diagrams and integrity constraints.
- Strong understanding of environment variables and libraries associated with each RDBMS.
- Strong understanding of database level programming such as triggers, procedures and packages.
- Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures, and ability to write specifications for applications to be developed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Remedy ticketing system
- 3 Years Experience with Oracle Application Server
- Experience supporting .NET applications
- SQL Server Administration Experience
Required Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent experience
Desired Education and Certifications:
• Oracle 9i and or 10g Certifications
• MSCE Certification
• ITIL Foundations Certification
