As a key member of our People, Learning, and Development (PLD) team in Southeastern Tennessee, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will help guide our human resources leadership by providing comprehensive human resources and organizational development support to the Factory Team. This position will act as a proactive business partner who gains a deep understanding of customer needs and goals, and provides human resources solutions to issues. Specific responsibilities include employee relations, performance management, recruiting and retention, training and organizational development and special projects.

   

Provide HR Support for 200+ associates in a 24/7 environment. Responsible for ensuring effective people relations skills and uses this knowledge to proactively promote and maintain a work environment where sound people relations, strong employee trust and open and effective communications exists between associates their managers and the company.


Applies skills associated with providing practical and timely problem solving, counseling and advice to managers or supervisors concerning a wide array of issues relating to people, organizational structures and all other areas affecting human resources and/or the environment in which they perform. Responsible for general performance management and salary administration activities for both clerical and professional employees ensuring sound pay decisions and practices are being followed, consistent with current compensation programs.

 

Leads the local Organizational Development function and works with corporate groups to identify, develop and implement programs, procedures and other avenues necessary to provide associates the opportunity to learn and broaden their knowledge base, skill sets and contribution levels to their area of accountability. Assists in ensuring actions and activities that promote and contribute towards a more diverse workforce that takes full advantage of the unique and varied skills and perspectives of a diverse workforce; assist in Affirmative Action Plan development and application.

 

Provide proactive, practical and timely coaching, guidance to Managers and associates, concerning a wide array of issues relating to people, organizational structures and all other areas affecting human resources in a Manufacturing environment.

 

Engage in and make continuous advancements in specific PLD related projects and practices that the Chattanooga Plant.

 

Be an active member and leader in TPM initiatives and teams.

 

 

   

This position requires a driven individual with 7-10 yrs human resources exp, with 3-5 years working in a plant and/or manufacturing environment.  Bachelor's degree in business, HR or a related field; master's degree is a plus. Demonstrated work history in most HR functions including talent acquisition, people relations, benefits administration, performance management, training and development, HR metrics, and HR data systems, with a preference in SAP HR. Organizational development/design experience a plus.

 Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence decision makers and balance HR practices and guidelines with business needs. Demonstrated history of building strong relationships, solving problems with a sense of urgency, working well with all levels of employees, and providing hands-on assistance in a busy fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities. Exceptional organizational and training skills are necessary, as is the ability to have self-initiative and identify and initiate a variety of projects in a fun and changing HR department. Flexibility to cover off shifts at least once per week and to be on call as needed.
