The engineer will act as the critical hub between the field and Henkel’s internal development activities, ensuring smooth flow of performance data and materials to customers and flow of customer feedback and expectations to the internal product development effort. Internally the engineer will champion both basic and application-specific testing of product prototypes as negotiated with product development and design functions of the team. The right person will exhibit great skill at balancing internal and external demands that keep the program’s development and sales programs on track.

Design and administer internal engineering screening evaluations on developmental and commercialized productsOptimize material assembly processesInteract directly with customers to troubleshoot and solve technical product and process related problemsConduct all R&D laboratory work, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, etc.Self-direct project work based on expertise in a specific product line and/or application technology using MS Office suite, MS Project and statistical analysis software, including JMP or Minitab Formulate strong technical conclusions and path forward from project workPrepare reports to develop and present technical presentations and webinars, both internally and externallyDevelop and conduct technical training on Henkel technology for Henkel personnel and customersMentor and provide technical advice to junior Technical Customer Support Engineers and Product Development Chemists on electronics industry practices and trendsHandle on-sight support of complex customer technical issues; apply creativity and innovation to solve technical problems; apply knowledge of customer application methods and external literature in project workWork with Product Development Chemists to define customer Critical to Quality (CTQ’s) targetsDefine testing and Design of Experiments (DOEs) to deliver meaningful data to customers; demonstrate implicit understanding of customer culture and anticipate their needs when developing new processes and/or productsConceive novel approaches to application process development, troubleshooting and material characterizationLead cross-functional technical teams to address problems associated with multiple product lines and/or applications leading regional and global cross-functional teams/project managementAct as technical liaison between external customers and all departments in Henkel by coordinating in-depth engineering and technical support Contribute to road mapping of technology development, products and/or application segment adhesives, including EMI shielding products, die attach pastes and associated processes Contribute to business strategy


Who we are looking for

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, material science or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 8 years of chemical laboratory, surface-mount or semi-conductor packaging experience. Adhesives, including EMI shielding products, die attach pastes and associated processesleading regional and global cross-functional teams/project management; minimum 5 years providing on-site customer support; product development road mapping; preparing reports and making technical presentations to business stakeholders and customers; MS Office suite, MS Project and statistical analysis software, including JMP or Minitab.
