Job Function
The main job function for this position is to be a core team member in the development of processes to support New Product Development (NPD) projects. This position is responsible for the development of assembly processes from product conception through tool transfer to manufacturing, including but not limited to process concepts, tool costs and production rates, project management, process qualification and release to manufacturing activities.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
· Collaborate with product design to reduce complexity while assuring Design for manufacturability (DFM).
· Lead core assembly team in completing PFMEA and risk reduction activities.
· Manage multiple tool development projects to established time and budget constraints.
· Purchase tooling and components from global suppliers.
· Maintain required documentation to assure compliance to procedures and tool integrity.
· Work globally to establish and delivery standard design protocols and standards.
· Prepare and deliver global presentations to project management.
· Complete process capability studies, interpret results and implement required process improvements to meet establish NPD capability standards.
· Plan, coordinate and execute process transfer activities to ensure successful start-up at identified manufacturing sites globally.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Demonstrated project management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
· Demonstrated problem solving ability.
· Thorough software skills with Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer) to manage deliverables and work effectively within team environment.
