Position Description:
The Senior Process Engineer is the lead technical position in a refinery business team responsible for strategic improvement of the operating units, and provides the refinery with technical and operational expertise within the assigned area unit operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify long-term process improvement opportunities, including process safety, margin improvement, reliability, and energy efficiency
- Implement technologies and identify potential projects to improve unit profitability and optimize efficiency
- Provide high-level monitoring & troubleshooting of the unit operations
- Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers within the business team
- Actively participate in technical network for process areas
Background Requirements:
- BS or MS in Chemical Engineering
- Extensive process engineering experience in petroleum refining unit operations
- Operations support or process engineering experience in FCC, hydrocracking, Diesel Hydrotreating, Cat Naphtha Hydrotreating, and/or CCR or Semi-regen Refoming unit operations is desireable
- Strong ability to analyze operational data and recommend appropriate course of action
- Experience using process simulation software and knowledge of refinery economics
- Strong familiarity with refinery work processes and systems, including experience in unit operations, data analysis, project identification, unit monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and leadership skills
