Sr Program Manager - Tax

Amazon is looking for talented program management resources with experience in tax, financial services and technology to support this effort. We are seeking a Sr. Program Manager - Tax to join our global tax team. This position will partner with teams across Amazon to plan, coordinate, budget and implement projects to ensure that company goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budgets. The candidate with demonstrate an exceptional bias for action and comfort in dealing with ambiguity. The Amazon tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment that offers many challenging opportunities for developing one's financial technical skillset.

Deep dive driving large complex projects with a significant Tax dependency across multiple organizations with Senior Management visibility. They will coordinate and communicate Tax project status and coordinate with other corporate teams including but not limited to Accounting, Treasury, HR, Legal and Finance Operations. The candidate will develop self service templates and tools to support program management core competencies across all employees within Tax.

  • Played a lead role in successfully implementing an enterprise change management initiative, either as a consultant or program manager
  • Can easily understand the business line, technical and finance/accounting aspects of a change effort to represent each of the constituents and stakeholders on a project; a successful candidate does not need to be expert in all 3 disciplines but does require an appropriate level of knowledge of each to “translate” across each involved group
  • Bachelor’s degree; business administration, finance or accounting preferred

  • MBA with technology/finance/accounting background
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering, analyzing and synthesizing business requirements and when needed escalating actions from multiple sources
  • Has high standards for delivery and success
  • Has passion and conviction for his/her work, and can inspire others by example and results
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to dive deep to resolve issues that will arise in this effort
  • Ability to effectively coordinate among various groups at Amazon
  • Strong team player
