Sr. Project Design Engineer
About the Job
A global company specializing in contract manufacturing of electromechanical components and assemblies for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) has an immediate need for a Senior Design Engineer based out of Tucson, AZ. This critical position will be responsible for developing design concepts based on customers’ requirements and liaising between prototype vendors and Design Engineering to validate designs.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the mechanical and electro-mechanical designs based on customer’s requirement from conception to release to production.
• Maintain design database through the development and prototype phase of a project.
• Develop the design validation test spec for testing projects.
• Liaise between prototype vendors and Design Engineering to validate the design concept.
• Document the design changes and update the affected prints and database using the ECN prototype and production process.
• Provide technical leadership to the project teams for prototype, hard tool and mass production phases of projects.
• Provide RCA for quality issues pertaining to design field and perform the corrective action.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years working experience in design, with at least two years experience working in Pro-E/AutoCAD, and with a minimum of one year DFMEA and TA experience.
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering
• Minimum five years working experience in design field
• Minimum two years Pro-E/AutoCAD experience
• Sheet metal design and process experience
• Experience in creating Pro-E drawings
• Minimum one year DFMEA and TA experience
• Electro-mechanical design experience
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently
