Responsibilities

·         Provides statistical and technical analysis of test data to determine that testing activities provide adequate test effort and test coverage to meet contractual obligations with businesses.

·         Uses statistical analysis techniques and tools to identify and report on testing trends.

·         Builds and manages productive and effective relationships with project team members; demonstrates respect to others.

·         Helps project teams identify new or revised action plans based on trend analysis.

·         Effectively develops and performs test programs or scripts.

·         Uses best practices to identify practices within project teams that do not contribute to their efficiency and overall success.  Works to bring practices in line with goals and monitors project teams to ensure discipline to the process.

·         Critically evaluates others¿ work to spot any potential omissions and mistakes.

·         Exercises complete coverage of all areas of risk on a product.

·         Runs appropriate metrics for a project using approved tools and methods.

·         Creates reliable project work estimates and schedule for self and others, and identifies associated dependencies, constraints and assumptions.

·         Assesses project level risks and communicates internally and externally.

·         Communicates with external / internal partners on the progress of project goals, objectives, and testing efforts.

·         Utilizes a variety of means to communicate regularly with project team members to provide status reports.

·         Models policies and processes to team members.

Qualifications

Education:
B.S. Degree in computer science, information systems, or related area, or equivalent work experience (5+ years professional software development or testing)

Experience: Experience with software test tools (e.g., Quick Test Pro, WinRunner, Quality Center, etc.), load or stress testing tools (e.g., HP LoadRunner), web services testing tools (e.g., HP Service Test, soapUI), defect tracking tools (e.g., Quality Center), variety of operating systems and application platforms, project management, software development, software development life cycles and methodologies a plus; Familiarity with configuration management in development, test, and production environments. Working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols, Experience with high volume, high-availability applications, all components of application architecture including web tier, application tier, database tier, and networking in order to facilitate performance troubleshooting, database query tools (e.g., SQuirreL, DBVisualizer, etc.). Familiarity with XML, parsers, and web service products is a plus (e.g., HP Service Test, XML, XSLT, Axis, JAXB, etc.)..

Accomplishments

(Degrees, Certifications, Languages): WinRunner, QTP, LoadRunner or comparable testing tool certifications, MS Certified Application Specialist, CSQE or CSQA certifications a plus.

Work Environment: Work under pressure with time constraints; regular change in work tasks/duties.  Possible nights and weekends.
