Sr. QA Engineer

Description:
+ Work with project team to develop QA / test strategies, test plans and executes QA activities.
+ Participate in detailed application requirements gathering process to understand client requirements and develop QA / test plans, test cases and test scripts for performing QA activities including functional and regression testing and validate customer requirements.
+ Work with application design team to develop and execute software test plans and validation procedures.
+ Debug software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain software quality standards.
+ Use QA tools, develop automated test scripts that thoroughly and accurately regression tests the developed system. This should include both recorded as well as coded scripts.
+ Work with development team to generate appropriate test data.
+ Coordinate with project manager and technical lead to build alpha and beta testing environments.
+ Prepare test scenario and/or test case documents to be used in different application testing.
+ Participate in system integration testing, functional testing, application performance testing, and application security testing.
+ Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business and client stakeholders.
+ Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and enhancement of software
+ Analyze test results to ensure that developed system meets requirements, satisfies test cases and acceptance criteria
+ Coordinate with development team to resolve defects as quickly as possible.
+ Assist in designing, implementing and coordinating defect management and resolution workflow.
+ Assist the QA Lead in identification of risks, risk management and risk mitigation strategies to ensure a successfully tested application.
+ Research and resolve production support help desk tickets
+ Strong and professional communication skills, both oral and written with all levels of management and project team members
+ Be a self-directed performer, innovator, and leader

Qualifications:
- QA strategy
- Planning and conducting tests at different stages of application development
- Analyses of test results and QA report generation
- Defect management and resolution
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- 5+ years of experience in testing approaches and concepts, quality assurance, software configuration management, build management/version control procedures, change control procedures, and issues management.
- 3+ years of experience with UAT, Regression Testing, load, performance, stress and disaster recovery testing.
- 3+ years of QA experience in testing Web-based systems and applications required to support multiple browsers and versions
- 3+ years of QA experience in Business Intelligence and/or large database management environment.
- 2+ years of experience in designing SQL queries, testing databases and data management
- 2+ years of experience in testing and verifying compliance of Web-based systems and applications to Section 508, OMB, and other federal govt. requirements, regulations, policies, and mandates
- 2+ years of experience in reviewing code to verify compliance with coding and commenting standards
- 2+ years of experience in auditing projects to verify compliance with CMMi practices and procedures
