Sr. Quality Analyst

About the Job

Reporting to a Quality Assurance Manager a Sr. QA Analyst will plan, oversee and execute the professional testing of highly interactive web applications. The Sr. QA Analystwill work with project teams and the QA domain to devise testing strategies and test cases to support multiple software development projects.

 

Essential Job Functions

Practice Delivery

 

·         Analyze moderate to complex systems, project documentation and/or customer needs in order to determine the appropriate test strategies and translate them into required test documentation

·         Create, manage and execute test cases to validate the functional requirements and the overall robustness of web sites and applications

·         Oversee QA activities for multiple projects in different stages of the project life cycle

·         Initiate and participate in proactive and continuous process improvement efforts

·         Assist the development team in troubleshooting software defects

·         Analyze and report test results, quality metrics and trends to management and project teams

 

 

Client Delivery

 

·         Determine and document the proper testing strategy for various web applications

·         Estimate and document scope and budget for all testing phases of various software development projects

·         Work with the project teams and clients to help define acceptance and release criteria

 

Business Development

 

·         Help to define and establish best practices for the QA domain and the company as a whole

 

Required Qualifications

·         A Bachelors Degree in MIS, CIS, CS or Communications or equivalent experience is required

·         3-6 years experience in web development, programming, software and application development environment

·         Strong knowledge in quality assurance and testing methodologies and tools

·         The ability to develop and execute a test plan and work towards delivering code that is free of bugs and satisfies all communicated requirements.

·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in verbal, written or visual form to a variety of audiences, from the internal team to client executives

·         Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented and creative environment

·         Must possess excellent decision-making skills for problem identification and solution recommendation

·         Strong working knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and various development methodologies

·         Ability and willingness to communicate potential quality issues at all phases of a project and to work with the project team to determine potential risks and to find effective solutions

·         Strong knowledge of current web technologies, (including security and performance) and the vulnerabilities they carry.

·         Strong knowledge of load and performance testing techniques for web applications

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

·         Experience using automated software testing tools

·         Programming experience, preferably with an object oriented language

·         Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process (RUP) or equivalent

·         Experience working with a team of offshore associates

·         Experience testing in an agile development environment

·         Knowledge and experience validating W3C, WCAG1, WCAG2(WAI) andSection 508 accessibility guidelines
