Job Description:
Senior Quality Engineer to drive Operational Excellence in a manufacturing and engineering environment. Duties include the following:
- Support operations personnel in the manufacturing activities to assure complete understanding of the process and requirements and adherence to established procedures;
- Support manufacturing, operations and business objectives through the use of processes and data to achieve Operational Excellence goals
- Utilize prevention based approaches and advanced analytical methods to perform fault analysis and identify root cause, and apply corrective and preventive measures to preclude recurrence and achieve continuous quality improvement;
- Work closely with process engineers to identify and resolve issues that cause non-conformances and require process improvements; ability to analyze processes and performance data, identify gaps and implement improvements
- Disposition of non-conforming material while assuring proper procedures are followed, and applying root cause/corrective & preventive action techniques;
- Review and approve process changes;
- Assume full responsibility in the assigned area for quality of hardware and documentation and associated procedures;
- Work to improve inspection techniques as well as criteria as dictated by data analysis;
- Perform area self-audits to ensure compliance;
- Actively participate in Defect Prevention Team (DPT) activities and continuous improvement process, utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methods for improvement
Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer ll
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of printed circuit board assembly process(ie. Surface mount technology, thru hole technology and contract manufacturing arena.
- Minimum 6years of quality systems, concepts, and management and planning tools, statistical process control tools experience
- Minimum 6 years of analyzing metrics and predict future program performance experience
- Minimum 6 years of general ISO/AS 9100 Quality requirements experience
- Minimum 6 years generating, reviewing, and / or implementing policies and procedures, work instructions and test procedures experience
- Minimum 6 years of analytical skills in Root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions.
- Minimum 6 years of Integrated Supply Chain experience
- BS Engineering / Science required. MS Engineering / Science desired.
Desired Qualifications
* Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing / Shingo Examiner certifications
* ASQ-CQE/CQM/CQA certifications
* Knowledge of military, industry, commercial and international standards and specifications.
* Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration
* Knowledge of MRP tools (e.g., SAP)
* Associated IPC and ANSI standard knowledge
* General understanding of commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards.
- Six sigma, Lean and other contemporary Methodologies for process improvement.
- Detailed knowledge of industry technical standards and System/Product Development Models (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc).
- Advanced Quality Science tool experience
- Cost of Quality
- Hardware, Procurement, Production, Integration Experience
