Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer II
This Senior Quality Engineering position supports multiple technology domains and functions across a Quality Integrated Team including design, supplier engagements and support to manufacturing/test value stream areas interfacing with Cross Business Team functional areas within IDS to drive best value for our customers.
This high visibility position requires results based management of all Quality activities within assigned manufacturing value streams. Provides technical suppor to value stream for product and process compliance to support both tactical and strategic initiatives. Position will establish, oversee, and coordinate quality policy and practices ensuring alignment to Raytheon/IDS and enabling No Doubt Mission Assurance.
Will present Books and Data packs to DCMA for presale along with taking ownership of follow-up requests. Will hold the responsibility for the Presale Status Report
, preparation and issuance to Management and support staff. Will be responsible for the final book presale review.
Provides support to the Production floor regarding questions or information regarding quality matters Will perform standardized process floor audits.
Identifies the need and issues internal HQMS Corrective Action Requests. Will provide RCCA assistance to actionees. Reviews and approves completed CA responses and will perform verification and validation activities.
Will perform datapack reviews and inspection activities to identify discrepancies.
Participates in CCB review meetings. Will review, analyze, comment and approve CN's, ED's, and RFV's through the ACMS system.
Will develop, analyze and prepare presentation material for datapack and quality metrics for DRP meeting on a monthly basis.
Will manage the non conforming material cage activities and control of nonconforming or suspect material.
Will act as a liaison from the TRC to other IDS centers.
Active participant in daily stand-up meetings. Will attend other meetings as defined by leadership.
Expected to work to schedule and budget.
Develops area and functional quality requirements and participates in the development of new methods, process proofing procedures, and systems using both Lean and Raytheon Six Sigma methodologies to achieve efficiency and affordability to cost targets consistent with IDS Quality goals.
Will validate flow down of quality requirements for programs. Works closely with Supply Excellence to assure the supplier performance requirements are communicated to suppliers, through close coordination with Supply Chain to drive supplier improvement initiatives. May be involved in work requirements such as: First Article inspections, fault review, support to or chair of Defect Prevention and Continuous Improvement teams, root cause and corrective action activities for assurance that hardware meets quality and process compliance requirements.
A secret clearance will be required for this position. Candidates must be able to get a secret clearance with an interim within 30 days of hire.
Basic Qualifications:
Required Education: BS/BA in a Quality of Engineering discipline
6-8 years direct experience in quality.
Working skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Power Point)
General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as AS9100, ANSI, etc)
Understanding of industry best practices for Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls.
Desired Qualifications:
Clear and concise communication skills (both written and verbal).
Prior working experience in a manufacturing environment.
Project Management experience.
Process Six Sigma, Lean and other contemporary Quality Science skills for improvement.
Advanced analytical skills in Root-cause and Failure Analysis (RMEA).
Demonstrated competency in the application of advanced analytical methods and problem solving tools that influence design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product performance through inspection and testing procedures.
