Quality: The Raytheon IDS Quality organization assures that functional products are delivered to the program areas using quality and effectiveness throughout the product life cycle. Our goal is to establish, oversee and coordinate quality policy and practices ensuring alignment to Raytheon and IDS and enabling Mission Assurance Job Description: Responsible to serve as Quality/Process Control Engineer within IDS representing the customers best interests, assuring product quality and effectiveness through out the product life cycle from design through post delivery support. This will be a "hands on" position working closely with the represented workforce and support team to ensure process capability and quality control. The Quality Engineer is the interface to the program for Mission Assurance and will drive overall quality performance. Will help to ensure programs meet customer / end user objectives for Mission Assurance and ensure NoDoubt TM expectations. Will work closely with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills. Will work in a Results Based Culture using analytical methods for process improvement. Responsibilities: Ability to engage at all levels of the organization to execute program requirements in a manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively communicate and interface at all levels of the organization to positively influence change and direction. - Works with a great deal of independence to resolve electromechanical issues and supports resolution of supplier and feeder escapes. Participates in the review and disposition of nonconforming hardware, applying technical knowledge for mechanical and electrical challenges. - Ensures flow down of Raytheon and contract program requirements both internally and to suppliers, ensures compliance with contract program requirements, quality requirements and programs. Ensures proper interpretation of requirements, policies and procedures - Identifies systemic performance issues and directs root-cause analysis and corrective solution identification and implementation with closure plans. - Ability to interface with customers to ensure compliance and resolution of any reported issues. - Reviews practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality. - Analyzes, interprets, trends and executes improvements on key metrics. - Reviews major deliverables to ensure contract compliance prior to delivery to customer. Includes reviewing major deviations and waivers, acceptance test results and all major anomaly conditions. - Ensures proper investigations were performed prior to closure of issues. This broad breadth of responsibilities shall include working with Quality, Development & Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and System Validation and Test personnel. This individual is responsible to assure full quality compliance for software, systems, hardware, integration and operations. To be effective in these responsibilities, experience with systems, hardware, integration, design, operations and supply chain is desirable. Specific tasks include: * Focal point for continuous improvement, driving defect prevention and working closely with the workforce. * Root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions and continuous improvement * Metrics based decision making, analysis, and prediction of future program performance o Ensure process and product integrity on the project: Conduct project, CBT process and product evaluations and assessments. Includes IPDS Gate scoring, design process, supplier evaluations, supplier assessment, pre-sale audits and applicable readiness reviews. Elevate issues as required. Provide feedback on project work products as required. o Ensure flow down of program quality requirements to appropriate stakeholders including suppliers and subcontractors. o Review and approve product release and change control. o Complete traceability analysis including impact analysis of changes, work product incongruities and improvement opportunities. * Planning, Facilitating and Team-coordination o Effectively influencing a program to be successful o Reporting on program performance metrics and root cause/corrective action investigation status to senior management 2 nd Shift 3 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Sr. Quality Assurance Hardware Engineer ll Basic Qualifications: o Minimum 6 years quality systems, concepts, and management and planning tools, statistical process control tools experience. o Minimum 6 years analytical skills in Failure Analysis and/or Root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions. o Minimum 6 years Six sigma, Lean and other contemporary Methodologies for process improvement. o Minimum 6 years analyzing metrics and predict future program performance experience o Minimum 6 years experience with general ISO/AS 9100 Quality requirements o Minimum 6 years experience in new product development, integration, supplier and / or manufacturing activities. o Minimum 6 years generating, reviewing, and / or implementing policies and procedures, work instructions and testing procedures. o Ability to get a DoD Security Clearance. o Required Education (including Major): BS Engineering / Science required. / Science desired. Desired Qualifications: o High energy, self - starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement o Flexibility to be cross trained and support multiple areas involving diverse technologies and processes (e.g., Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, external suppliers) o Experience in a Lead or Program Management capacity o Competence in computer skills: EXCEL, WORD, POWER POINT. * Strong Planning, Facilitating and Team-coordination skills. * Good general knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc). o Excellent coordination, written & verbal communication and presentation skills. o General Statistical Process Control knowledge including implementation. o General knowledge of aerospace /defense products and systems technologies. o Associated IPC and ANSI standard knowledge o Experience in proposals and bidding o General understanding of commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards. o MS Engineering o ASQ Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.), Lean/Six Sigma or other contemporary methodologies and tools for continuous improvement.
