Individual contributor responsible for formulating and developing products. Will also serve as scientific contact on formula development issues. Formulates and modifies existing personal care product or home fragrance formulas. Insures appropriate formula stability, package compatibility, product performance, claim support and clinical testing are conducted. Provides formula costing. Develops and maintains product specifications, finished product standards, and raw material specifications. Develops procedures for scale up and manufacturing. Provides latest information on new technologies which may apply to business products. Typically reports to Research and Development Manager/Director.

' Will have sub-brand or a portion of sub-brand responsibility.

' Tracks projects of low ' medium complexity and fast track development timing. i.e. Low complexity: shade or fragrance extensions and ability to adjust physical properties of the formulas such as viscosity or modify preservative systems.

' Assess project timelines

' Follow-up w/contract manufacturers, internal cross functional teams

' Manage and maintain all project development tools ' C- Projects, IDP Documentation, etc.

' Attend Commercialization meetings with or without Manager

' Optiva workflow (i.e. formula review)

' Assist manager with on-site trouble shooting

' Responsible for maintaining standards

' May have a direct report or perform as a supervisor.



Relationship Development

' Act as the primary contact with manufacturer.

' Manage cross functional relationship by providing project status



Talent Management and Development

' Attend and participate in Limited Brands entry level Learning Manager classes.

' Attend olfactive and stability training at fragrance houses

' Continue to build product aesthetics skills

' When possible help train cross functional partners.

' Work with Manager to create IDP and PPO's.

' Take action and follow-up on IDP & PPO's

' Assist in On Boarding new associates

' 3-6 years R&D or related experience with consumer product goods

' Related work experience in R&D



EDUCATION:



' Bachelors degree in Chemistry, science or equivalent experience
