The Homeland and Protection Business Unit currently has a vacancy for a Records Management Analyst to support our customer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.



JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide analysis, advice, and recommendations on assigned Records Management issues and proposals. Evaluate Records Management training as directed. Work with Records Management policy and process experts; consult with management on document retention, transfer, or other Records status issues. On a weekly basis, consult with staff to identify all electronic and hard copy materials generated and evaluate them as to their records status and retention requirements consistent with the ARIMS policies and procedures. Develop evaluation techniques, document review strategies and processes to assure effective priority of records for archival. Establish daily work priorities of the team and verify that changes in priorities, methods and strategy are effectively communication to the team.Responsibilities will include official government records handling, scanning, copying, indexing, data entry, reporting, and filing. A portion of this work will include the handling, scanning, and processing of government records. The candidate will routinely interface with task management and functional area leaders, possible subcontractors, support personnel, and SAIC senior management. The candidate will work closely with our government client at their facility located on Aberdeen Proving Ground-Edgewood Area.



The candidate should have knowledge of records management processes involved in the life cycle of records including electronic and hardcopy records. The candidate will work within Federal, DoD, and Army Records Management policies and regulations. The candidate should have adequate experience to be able to provide guidance with management on document retention, transfer, or other Records status issues. The candidate will be called on to provide analysis, advice, and recommendations on assigned Records Management issues and proposals.



The candidate will be expected to work in a small team setting with oversight provided by a task manager and Records Management subject matter expert (SME). The candidate will be expected to interface on a regular basis with the task manager and SME and contribute to routine progress reports.



This position will be located in Abingdon, MD with possible frequent trips to Aberdeen Proving Ground-Edgewood Area. Travel of approximately 30% to off-site locations is anticipated.



Due to federal contract regulations, US citizenship is required.



REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or four years of professional experience in documents handling and archiving.



REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate must be able and willing to work closely with our customer on a military installation, handle government documents/records, and operate scanning and copying equipment. The candidate must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate must also be customer-service focused with the ability to multi-task while maintaining high quality work. The candidate should have documented work experience in the information management field, preferably within the Army environment. The candidate must have the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines. The candidate should be able to present training and other briefing materials as required.



DESIRED SKILLS: Experience working within Federal, DoD, and Army Records Management policies and regulations. It is desired that the candidate have a familiarity with scanning/copying equipment, electronic file management, and file nomenclature development. It is also desired that the candidate have a familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of tools, Adobe Acrobat files, and optical character recognition.
